Lion's share of festive collection

Tuesday, 08 January 2013

The Father Christmas Float that Caterham Oxted and Godstone Lions (COGS) parade round the neighbourhood the weeks before Christmas proved just as popular this year as in the past. Every night that the brightly lit sleigh with its music and waving Santa toured the streets the mums, dads and children came out not only to join in the fun but to add to the collection of cash that is designated for local good causes. And they were very generous increasing the takings by nearly £150 on last year. Part of this money will go towards a lunch for the elderly to be held at Horne Golf Club this month. The next fundraising event will be COGS popular Barn Dance which is in March at St Catherine’s School, Bletchingley.
